I purchased a pet grooming tool, which was already on sale for about $11-$12. Great deal? Of course! Well, a few days later I noticed the pricing on the same item went down to about $7! Ok, at first glance, no big deal as it's only a $5 difference, but don't most stores give you a post-purchase refund if there is a sale within 30 days?!?? (ie... Best Buy, Grocery Stores, most any other company that sells stuff). If I'm wrong, fill me in because between my friends and I this was always the case.
So, I decide to write an email to Amazon saying:

I just ordered a brush this weekend, FURminator Small Blue deShedding Tool with 1.75-Inch Edge, and when looking at the product again it went down in price about 4-5 bucks! Is there anything I can do to either recover the difference?
Their reply was a basic message talking about how their policy doesn't allow for a post-purchase refund. Ok, so that's cool... but the link in this email gave me the option to give a final feedback about my contact with Amazon. Here I wrote:

I know it's only $5 and I'm only one customer, but I know that if I bought something locally and brought it back when the price drops you usually get 30 days to bring in your receipt and get the difference back. However, thank you for your quick response to my initial inquiry.
So I thought hey, this will hit the books somewhere and never be seen again... I was wrong. I got this reply:

I realize our last message was disappointing news for you. Prices on some items may change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we can't honor new discounts for completed orders.
I'm sorry I don't have better news for you; this is our policy at this time. We won't be able to comment on this issue further.

This is what kinda pissed me off. This was only an issue to begin with and I had called it quits. Maybe my last email hit the wrong desk and the person answering got a little pissy. Screw them! It's only $5... I've spent tons of money with them in the past... but maybe I won't anymore.
So anyways, not really a big deal but it just rubbed me the wrong way that they couldn't help with a few bucks... policy shmolicy.
